There's no need for you to come in early, or show up 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Everything you will do is already factored in to your appointment time. Just like you'll discover with every other visit you have at PrimeSpine, if you arrive on time, you will not have to wait.
When you walk in, you will be greeted by name and promptly handed an iPad. This is where you'll provide us with all of your information and health history... easily and securely (no awkward pen and clipboard necessary!). Do your best to be as thorough as possible. The information you give to us is critical for helping us help you reach your health goals as quickly as possible.
When you're finished with the iPad, you'll sit down with Dr. Smith in his office for a brief consultation where you will get to know one another, discuss the purpose of your visit, address any health or lifestyle-related problems you're having, voice your concerns, and ask any health-related questions you may have. Dr. Smith will take this time to learn more about you, your health goals, and your expectations. If he determines that chiropractic care could help you, you'll move forward with an exam.
After your consultation, Dr. Smith and his staff will perform a complete chiropractic examination for you. The exam allows him to evaluate the overall health of your spine and its surrounding tissues, as well as to identify any potential causes of your current issues. The exam typically consists of testing the function and integrity of your spine.
At Prime Spine, we also use technology developed by NASA and certified by the Space Foundation. The specific testing includes thermal scanning, sEMG, and bluetooth range of motion. When combined, these exams show us (and you) a crystal-clear picture of how your spine and nervous system are functioning. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, flexibility, movement, postural, muscular and physical tests may be performed as well. However, please know that nothing will ever be done in our office without your consent.
Depending on your specific condition, Dr. Smith may also decide it's necessary to utilize X-rays or other imaging. X-rays help us to make a more accurate diagnosis when more complicated problems are suspected, allow us to develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of potentially serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. Dr. Smith goes out of his way to educate his patients so they can understand the cause of their issues themselves.
Once your exam is finished, you will schedule a time to return for your Report of Findings visit.
Please note: You will probably not be adjusted on your first visit. You will eventually come to learn that Dr. Smith doesn't like to guess, especially about something as important as your health. You can take comfort in knowing that you will only be adjusted if and when he determines that chiropractic care is the most effective method to get you the best results.
Your first visit will take around 45 minutes of your time.
